Flooring Sales Consultant and Estimator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flooring Sales Consultant and Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating sales in-store, estimating project costs, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of flooring materials and installation methods, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
You will be heading our flooring department alone but as part of our larger interiors team. You will guide clients through the whole journey of selecting and installing the desired floor finish whilst managing each project alongside our long-term sub-contract fitters and suppliers. Your working week will be made up of 5 days Monday - Saturday with a rotating Saturday off once a month. We do not open on Sundays.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with customers to understand their flooring needs and recommend suitable products and solutions.
Conduct on-site measurements and assessments to prepare accurate estimates for flooring installations.
Develop and present detailed proposals, including cost estimates and timelines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of flooring materials, installation techniques, and industry trends.
Collaborate with installation teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
Manage customer inquiries, follow up on leads, and build long-term relationships with our clients.
Process sales transactions and maintain accurate records of estimates and sales orders.
Work with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain pricing and availability information.
Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Proven experience in flooring sales, estimating, or a related field.
Knowledge of flooring materials, including hardwood, carpet, vinyl, and laminates.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost estimation.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office and estimating software.
Self-motivated with strong organisational and time management skills.
Full valid UK driver’s license.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
Experience with flooring installation processes.
Project management.
Previous experience in a retail or contractor sales environment.
